Actress

tallulah-bugsy

Jodie Foster

I first fell in love with acting age 6, when my mum took me to see Bugsy Malone at the cinema.  I was blown away!  Who wouldn’t want to be Tallulah (the stupendously brilliant actor, Jodie Foster)?

Then, aged 8, I was chosen to be an Oompa Loompa in my school production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (hello Keyworth Primary, Notts.  Big up the class of ’79!).  My friend Victoria and I were a bit older than the other Oompa Loompa’s so got to boss them around and despite being ill at the time of the production (and fainting in assembly, and being carried out by Mr Baker, CRINGE) I insisted on getting up on stage every night.  Happy days.  It took years before I realised I had been chosen because I was so small…. ah well, I felt VERY special at the time!

I know most of us have anecdotes like this and I’m not going to bore you with my entire life story.  I can tell you that my love for acting and performing went SO DEEP I eventually made my dream come true and I’ve now been a professional actress for 15 years.

I was lucky enough to train at the prestigious East 15 Acting School where I got a Masters in Acting for Media (TV, Film and Radio, as it was then.)  It was honestly the best year of my life, getting to be totally immersed in my passion and being taught by some of the best in the industry.  I felt blessed every day!  And when I first set foot on a film set, I immediately felt a sense of belonging, of being home.

Have You Seen Me in Anything?

This is the question I get asked most and the answer is probably NO.  Unless you are a Zombie film fan of course, in which case almost definitely MAYBE.  The thing is, if you have seen me in something I would hope that you remember (and if not, let’s not discuss it!).  On the other hand, if you haven’t seen me in anything then… it’s a stupid question isn’t it?  My tutor once told me you should never ask an actor if they are working – because if they are they will tell you and if not they won’t want to talk about it!  Wise words indeed.

However, if you do want to know what I get up to both on stage and screen, then do feel free to click the link below which will take you to my Spotlight page (the Actor’s Directory)  And rest assured, next time I’m in a production I will be sure to let you know!
